STEEL-RAM 92设计用作无芯感应电炉的工作炉衬材料，主要用来熔化碳钢、不锈钢及合金钢等。选用高纯电熔刚玉作为主要原料，并且添加一定比例的氧化镁，使用过程中热面在高温下会形成铝镁尖晶石的致密烧结层，抵抗钢水的侵蚀和冲刷，同时在背衬保持良好的松散层，提高整体炉衬的安全性能。
