STEEL-RAM 89

STEEL-RAM 89 is designed as the working lining material for coreless induction furnaces, primarily used for melting carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steels. It is formulated with high-purity electrofused corundum as the main raw material, with a specified proportion of magnesium oxide added. During operation, the hot face develops a dense sintered layer of alumina–magnesia spinel at elevated temperatures, providing excellent resistance to slag erosion and molten steel scouring. Meanwhile, a well-structured loose backing layer is maintained, enhancing the overall safety and performance of the furnace lining.
