STEEL-RAM 92 is designed as the working lining material for coreless induction furnaces, primarily used for melting carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steels. It is formulated with high-purity electrofused corundum as the main raw material, with a specified proportion of magnesium oxide added. During operation, the hot face develops a dense sintered layer of alumina–magnesia spinel at elevated temperatures, providing excellent resistance to slag erosion and molten-metal scouring. Meanwhile, the backing maintains a well-structured loose layer, thereby enhancing the overall safety and performance of the furnace lining.
