The transition process of quartz is irreversible, but the volume of the lining after sintering is relatively stable even the temperature changes. Familiar with the crystallographic properties of quartz is beneficial for obtaining excellent lining service life and formulating sintering and cold-start technology.
Mainly utilize the following characteristics of fused quartz:
◎ SIL-RAM® 161 is a normal quartz-based material, and the binder B2O3 (0.6%, 0.8%, 1.0%, 1.2% etc.) can be selected according to the tapping temperature and other melting parameters;
◎ SIL-RAM® 162/SIL-RAM® 163/SIL-RAM® 167 / SIL-RAM® 263 /SIL-RAM® 267are acid lining material containing fused quartz. They have excellent volume stability and anti-erosion ability. And can be applied as the entire lining or used with normal quartz materials. Fused quartz material can improve excessive erosion of the lower lining part, and also can reduce the crack & peel off risks of the upper part.
◎ SIL-RAM® 165CR / SIL-RAM® 265CRis an acid lining material contains both fused quartz and chrome oxide. It has excellent volume stability, and chrome oxide improves the anti-erosion ability.
◎ SIL-RAM® 169CR is an acid lining material added with chromium oxide. The addition of chromium oxide improves the corrosion resistance of the material. It is usually used in the coreless induction furnace melting iron at high temperature or carbon steel.
